OpenStudy (angelmarie):

Alice and Finn roll two number cubes. Which of the following rules will make the game fair? Alice wins if a total of 5 is rolled. Finn wins if a total of 9 is rolled. Alice wins if a total of 7 is rolled. Finn wins if a total of 8 is rolled. Alice wins if a total of 3 is rolled. Finn wins if a total of 10 is rolled. Alice wins if a total of 4 is rolled. Finn wins if a total of 11 is rolled.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hey there :) The magic number is 7. Seven is the most likely number to come up when you roll a pair of numbered cubes. So if one person wins on 7, it would be unfair to give the other person any other value but 7.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

The further away we get from 7 in each direction gives us equally likelihood. So for example, one above 7 is 8, and one below 7 is 6. So the game would be fair if one person got 6 and the other had the 8.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Or three below 7 is 4 and three above 7 is 10. So the game would be fair if one person got 4 and the other had 10.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Use that information to figure it out :D Come on marieeee you can do it!
