how did the colonists view the natives? civilized but unable to govern or crude and ungodly

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

I assume you mean the English colonists and the Native Americans. Well, the English were extremely self-righteous Christians, determined to spread their version of Christianity to everyone by force (which isn't at all the way it's supposed to be done). What would they probably have thought of the Indians, who had many things that they worshipped and didn't do anything in a "civilized" (aka European) manner?
