OpenStudy (ladytigermaster13):

6=x+17 when x=[1]

OpenStudy (caseysorensen):

Simplifying x + 2 + 2 + 5x = 19 + x + 5 Reorder the terms: 2 + 2 + x + 5x = 19 + x + ... 4 + 6x + -1x = 24 + x + -1x Combine like terms: 6x + -1x = 5x + 5x = 24 + x +

alones (alones):

^This is confusing.

alones (alones):

\[6=1+17~ or ~6=(1)+17\] So you need to simplify this?

OpenStudy (1davey29):

The simplifying thing comes from Google and is for a different problem. Not sure how this problem should be solved, as 17+1 clearly isn't 6. Is this all the problem had with it?

alones (alones):

Unless you need to confrim if it's true or false.. \(\ 6≠18\) So that'd be false..
