OpenStudy (faiithhh):

3. Write an equation for the line in slope-intercept form. Slope = -3 and the y-intercept is (0,4).

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

To start off, what is slope-intercept form? How do we write it?

OpenStudy (faiithhh):

i honestly don't really remember

OpenStudy (faiithhh):

is it y=mx+b?

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Exactly! What are the variables there and what do they stand for?

OpenStudy (faiithhh):

m is the slope, x is what youre multiplying by(i think??), and b would be the y-intercept

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

You're very close, but try to think of m and b as being the only variables. y and x are just necessary parts of the equation that show us what equation we're using. Knowing that m and b are slope and y intercept, respectively, what are you given as your slope and y intercept to use?

OpenStudy (faiithhh):

WAIT OKAY would the equation be y = -3x +4 ?

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Yep!

OpenStudy (faiithhh):

thanks for walking me through it!!

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Happy to help!
