PLZ HELP ASAP WILL MEDAL!!! 3. A researcher would like to take a sample of students at a large high school. a. Describe a sampling plan that would result in a simple random sample. b. Describe a systematic sampling plan

OpenStudy (firedragonrage):

This is confusing to me too. Not the problem its the Sentence for a

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

is this statistics?

OpenStudy (narusamisty):

yes :)

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

I guess sytematic sampling for A since you will be taking randomly from groups and create a random sampling

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

and then just describe it lol they pretty much told you the answer on the second question

OpenStudy (narusamisty):

ah ok :) but i was wondering if i am supposed to describe a systematic sampling plan based on the question?

OpenStudy (narusamisty):

or is it just me having to write what is ?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

you could but it would be the same thing as describing how a systematic sampling functions :)

OpenStudy (narusamisty):

ah ok thankyou so much!! :D

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

no problem also, this might confuse you a bit but it depends on your point of view. I'm guessing systematic also because of question B. But in my personal opinion for A stratified sampling would be better since you would be doing this https://faculty.elgin.edu/dkernler/statistics/ch01/images/strata-sample.gif and as you can see that is a random sample when systematic is picking people based on every th number

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

but they could be both correct but your teacher most likely wants you to pick systematic ...I was just saying in case you want to add to your answer :)
