OpenStudy (brooke..help00):

What is an easy way to remember domaine?

OpenStudy (firedragonrage):

you mean Domain

OpenStudy (karim728):

domain is x.. range is y

OpenStudy (mhchen):

Domain is input, Range is output.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

There's more to "domain" than "x" or "Domain is input." The domain of a function is the set of all PERMISSIBLE input values of the function. The domain does NOT necessarily contain all real numbers. For example, the domain of the square root function is [0, inf.] because otherwise you'd be trying to find the square root of a negative number. Exactly what is it that you're trying to remember? When you think of "domain of a function," also think about possible restrictions on values that the input variable can take on.
