Sammy is a sales clerk in a bicycle shop. He's paid $4.25/hour for a 38.5 hour week, plus a commission of 9% of his sales for the week. In one week Sammy's sales were $2519. Calculate Sammy's total earnings for the week. Show work and round your final answer to the nearest cent.
total earnings for the week = basic earnings + commission = 4.25 * 38.5 + (9 * 2519 ) / 100
$390.335 this right?
hold on
Ok
yea so what is that to the nearest cent?
I am not sure lol.
well 100 cents to the dollar. so the second place of decimals is unit cents. So you need to round 390.335 to the second place of decimals
an example of rounding would be $23.325 = $23.33 to nearest cent the 44rd place decimal is 5 or greater so you round the 2 up to 3
@TylerMckinney16 You MUST do better. You showed how to calculate one thing in a different problem. Since then, you have waited for others to do all the calculation for you. You need to do better than that. Learning won't take place if you don't do the work.
* the 3rd place decimnal NOT 44th lol!!
Lol ok hold on ill do it.
That's the spirit.
gotta go
390.34 hows this?
:-) 5/4 rounding does, indeed, result in $390.34
So $390.34 is the answer?
