Hmm. I'm not sure. France managed to get the entire Louisiana Purchase, and Mexico had an awful lot of the rest (Latin America and Texas and a few surrounding areas) while England only got the East Coast (pathetic in comparison, IMO). (And it is England, by the way, colonization started a hundred years before the UK.)

We are both wrong . Colonization took place by Engish and Scots together in 1600's.
