Roosevelt' Rough Riders were the heros of San Juan Hill in Cuba during the Spanish American War. But yeah, Eisenhower never hung with him. He had been president already by the time Ike was a cadet at West Point. Pershing was chasing Zapata around northern Mexico when WWI broke out. The likes of Patton, MacArthur and Ike were new young officers under Pershing.
