OK LAST ONE THANK YA JESUS!!!!!!!!!! Circle the error and Explain why it is an error. Given 5( 8 – 3x) = 5x + 70 Step 1: Distribute 40 – 15x = 5x + 70 Step 2: Subtraction property of Equality -30 -15x = 5x Step 3: Addition property of Equality -30 = 10x Step 4: Division Property of Equality -3 = x Step 5: Identity property x = -3

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

I think 3 or 2 might be wrong

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

and then i have to explain why but i don't know yet

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yep step 3 is wrong....using addition property is still correct but they added incorrectly

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

oh ok

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

is that all

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yep

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

wait so were they suppose to add 30 and 10

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

and get 40 or somethin

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

hmm no step 3 is being applied to statement -30 - 15x = 5x Addition property allows for adding 15x to both sides However, 5x +15x = 20x Resulting in: -30 = 20x

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

OH ok

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

YET AGAIN THANK YOU!

OpenStudy (dumbcow):
