Identify the parent function for g from its function rule. Then graph g on your calculator and describe what transformation of the parent function it represents. g(x)=(x+1)² quadratic; translation 1 unit down quadratic; translation 1 unit left quadratic; translation 1 unit right quadratic; translation 1 unit up
ok, do you know what x + 1 would do to the graph?
hint, the equation is y = (x-h)^2 +k h is the horizontal shift k is the vertical shift
@CamPayne
good god ive not a single idea on how to do this
ok, so in this case, h is the + 1
since it is -(h), h must be -1
so the graph shifts left
did you have a lesson on this, or if you didnt, what do you know?
i did and it was pretty much like another language to me
haha, so how do i help you?
