The sum of the ages of Tony and Shantel is 88 years. 6 years ago, Tony's age was 3 times Shantel's age. How old is Tony now? medal given for answer , have tried to figure this same type of problem out for days and cant get it

let 88-(12) = total age 6 years ago
x + 3x = 88 - 12
