OpenStudy (zaynwich):

A machine is wrapping 18 boxes in 5 minutes. If the machine continues at the same rate, how many boxes will it wrap in 25 minutes? A. 38 B. 90 C. 23 D. 72

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

Well do you have a guess?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

We would need to find the boxes the machine can make in one minute...So we would divide the two.... \(\huge\bf{\frac{18}{5} = unit~rate}\)

OpenStudy (zaynwich):

@sissyedgar No. I'm really lost on this subject :(

563blackghost (563blackghost):

This has to deal with unit rate....what do you know of unit rate?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I provided the fraction in order to find the unit rate of the number of boxes per minute all you need to do is divide it to find it....@Zaynwich

OpenStudy (zaynwich):

So 72?

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

The equation above is completely correct... \[\frac{ 18 }{ 5 }\] When you put that into your calculator (which is just 18 divided by 5) what do you get?
