OpenStudy (banjoman):

Will Medal , Why is the USA still considered a crown colony in the U.K? even though we have our own government it is still seen this way in England. Anyone have any suggestions as to why? This was asked to me as a short answer question.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

I know of no evidence to suggest that England currently considers us to be a colony. In terms of foreign policy, the US and Great Britain have a "special relationship". We descended fro their government and we saved their butts in two world wars. We took over being a superpower from them.
