Last one. Please help! Will medal! Which equations represent the line shown in the graph? Choose all answers that are correct. A. y-1=-4/3(x+1) B. 4x+3y=-1 C. 3x-4y=1 D. y=-4/3x-1/3 https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1511000_1511500/1511274/1/7fe8f24783527bc74e0dc3165760f3c25f30bc0e/MS_IMC-140805-180401.jpg

alones (alones):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

I'm about 99% sure it's either B or D.

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Or B&D.

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Because it's multiple answers.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

they are a couple of ways to do this: 1) write each line in y=mx+b form Find equation of line from graph match the correct options with line from graph 2) Plug in the 2 given points from graph into each option and see if each equation contains the 2 points, if they do then it matches with line of graph.

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Yeah that's pretty much what I did, is it B&D? Or is it just one of them?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

which method did you use?

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

I wrote each line in y+mx+b form and then found the line of equation.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok great, so you got y = -4/3x - 1/3 so you know it must be D right?

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Oh yeah, 100% D. But it's supposed to be multiple answers, so I think it may be B as the other option.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

well you can be 100% sure , just rewrite B in y=mx+b form

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Do the same for A and D as well .... there is a 3rd option that matches as well

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Ok, x = -3/4 for B in y=mx+b form, y = 0 and y = 1/3

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

So I think B isn't it? Or is it?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

hmm ok lets review writing in y=mx+b form the goal is to solve for the y variable step 1: move "x" term to opposite side of "y" term \[3y = - 4x-1\] step 2: Divide by y coefficient \[y = -\frac{4}{3}x - \frac{1}{3}\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Now you can see it matches our line exactly. So both B and D are correct

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Ok, and you said there was a third option that was correct. I'm thinking it's C.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

why do you think its C? just put it in y=mx+b form and then you will know 100% .... no guessing

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

y= 3/4 x - 1/4 would be C in y=mx+b form. I'm in between A & C but what do you think?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes correct and that line does not match line from graph C) is incorrect

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

So It's A, B, and D?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Yes but verify this for yourself .... Put A in y=mx+b form to make sure it matches
