OpenStudy (elletangvald):

What is t to the Ninth Power over t to the seventh power equal to?

OpenStudy (mww):

There is a rule for dividing two indices involving a common base. \[a^m \div a^n = \frac{ a^m }{ a^n } = a^{m-n}\] You can simply write it using the same base with the new index being the first power minus the second power.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\Huge \dfrac{t^9}{t^7}$$ $$\Huge= \dfrac{t^2•t^7}{t^7}$$ $$\Huge =\dfrac{t^2•\cancel{t^7}}{\cancel{t^7}}$$ $$\Huge=t^?$$

OpenStudy (3mar):

Really, nice illustration, skullpatrol! I would do such that, but I am not so professional at using writing tools at Openstudy. (large fonts, colours, underline, bold, highlight colours, etc)
