PLEASE HELP!! WILL MEDAL Explain how a measurement can be both accurate and precise

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

No measurements can be accurate and precise in real because the least count of the instrument with the help of which u r measuring is limited plus there might be a human error. But to reduce error u must use an instrument with smaller least count and the number of times you measure the value is directly proportional to accuracy

Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

accuracy refers to how close your measurement is to the true value. so a high accuracy means your measurement is very close to the true value. precison means that several measurement are close to each other. say you did 10 measurement of speed of a car and they are all 5m/s, you can say your measurment is 100% precise, but in fact the true value is 10m/s, so your measurement is not accurate at all. Therefore, you can see that accuracy are precision are not the same. And a high degree of accuracy and precision is achievable by very careful measurement. But 100% accurate and precise is not posible since there is always a experimental error
