I need some help with math!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (civicsiscool44):

Figure 1 and figure 2 are two congruent parallelograms drawn on a coordinate grid as shown below: 4 quadrant coordinate grid showing two parallelograms. Figure 1 has vertices at negative 5, 3 and negative 3, 5 and negative 4, 8 and negative 6, 6. Figure 2 has vertices at 5, negative 7 and 3, negative 5 and 4, negative 2 and 6, negative 4. Which two transformations can map figure 1 onto figure 2? Reflection across the y-axis, followed by translation 10 units down Reflection across the y-axis, followed by reflection across x-axis Reflection across the y-axis, followed by translation 5 units down Reflection across the x-axis, followed by reflection across y-axis

OpenStudy (dallascowboys88):

You're Right It's C.

OpenStudy (civicsiscool44):

Could you explain?

OpenStudy (dallascowboys88):

umm...you said if you were right.how am i supposed to explain how to get the answer if you were the one who found your own answer.idk how you found the answer you said you were right or wrong, and your right.

OpenStudy (civicsiscool44):

So basically you do not know how to explain?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

One approach: sketch the diagram to "see" what is happening and confirm when you compare the points to see the transformations eg (-5,3) goes to (5, -7) so x goes to -x and y goes to y -10 likewise (-4, 8) to (- -4. 8-10) so (-4, 8) goes to (4, -2) when x goes to -x that is a reflection across the y-axis and y moves down is a translation option A matches my logic
