OpenStudy (woznichak):

Let f(x) = 3x^2 + x − 3 and g(x) = x^2 − 5x + 1. Find f(x) − g(x).

OpenStudy (phi):

they want you to subtract the two formulas I would do it term by term. for example, any idea what is 3x^2 - x^2 ? i.e. what is 3 "x squared"s take away 1 "x squared" ?

OpenStudy (woznichak):

2x ?

OpenStudy (phi):

2 x^2 (you have two of "x squared" not just x)

OpenStudy (phi):

now do x - -5x (remember minus a minus turns into a +)

OpenStudy (woznichak):

ohhh okay. i didnt read it right
