OpenStudy (austin.l):

So, is there any way to get the stats of my old account associated with my new one somehow?

OpenStudy (austin.l):

My old account, austinL was deleted a while ago due to inactivity. However, I wasn't able to use it due to circumstances in my life at the time. I know they're just numbers but all the questions and answers and medals and my score, etc... is there a way to get them associated with me in any way? If not, it isn't a big deal. I just wanted to know if it is possible?

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

From my understanding, you can't do that. I could be wrong thought. @AloneS @wwhitlock Do you know the answer?

OpenStudy (austin.l):

The only reason why I mentioned it is because all of my old answers and questions were archived under the anonymous name. I figured there would be a way to see who they were associated with somewhere in the code and could have it reassociated with me perhaps? http://openstudy.com/updates/527a6e5ae4b0dc82d5431ad2 Would be a prime example.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'm sure the programmers could do this somehow, but wouldn't call that an appropriate demand on their time. Why not just concentrate on building up a reputation, medals, fans, etc., under your new name?

OpenStudy (austin.l):

Well, the main reason why is that old account had years of work put into it. I was on this site every day for 8+ hours. Thousands of medals, questions answered, many fans, etc. I just feel like it was all in vain to a degree if that makes sense? And I have an odd sense of nostalgia and attachment to that account. I have used this site since 2011 and when I got deployed is when I lost my account in the purge of inactives. I realize it would be an odd demand on their time, I was just curious if it was possible or if it is how easy it would be.

OpenStudy (lowkey.s):

whats your old account @Austin.L

OpenStudy (austin.l):

It was @austinL however, someone took that username evidently? Because that current user definitely is not me. Haha

thomaster (thomaster):

No, your old account has been tossed in the trash. All the trash accounts were first pulled through the shredder. Then all the remaining fragments were burned with a napalm strike. The remaining ashes were collected and embedded in a nuclear warhead which has been shot into outer space and it was then detonated at an altitude of 69.4 miles. The blast disintegrated the ashes on a molecular level and scattered it across an area the size of Australia. So... no c:

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

The answer is, simply, no. They can do it, however they aren't because they probably realized they deleted too many accounts of people and the line is so long that they just left it like that. We know it is possible because when satellite73's account got accidentally deleted, they restored him his account within a day.

likeabossssssss (likeabossssssss):

no sadly

So... no c: \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Thomaster, this isn't accurate, infact most deleted accounts have quite a bit of leftover data in the database, if they wanted they could "easily" recover the data, but blegh... the devs have no godly idea what they are doing clearly... LOL By easily, I mean it will be difficult if you don't know how, or time consuming if you do :P

OpenStudy (frozen15):

I beleive you can not. Every account has its own stats. Such for medals and fans. The medals you have on an old account stay with that account cause thats a seperate account. Its like asking a friend that deleting or abandoing their account to give their medals to you. Its sadly impossible. Titles are also binded to accounts made. So you have to re-earn those on this account if you like Old accounts are far out deleted sadly but this account I was off of for 8 months and here two weeks ago I was able to be reunited on this one. Maybe you have forgotten your password? I think I just got lucky cause they deleted the old accounts that were abandoned. Good luck on getting medals and fans/titles

random231 (random231):

Hey austin! It's nice to see you back :)

OpenStudy (austin.l):

Good to be back sir. Just trying to dust the cobwebs out of my math skills. Don't think I'll be at the level I was at until I take the classes again.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Jay, same thing ;b

Directrix (directrix):

@Austin.L I sympathize with you regarding your feelings regarding the loss of your OS oeuvre. I hold out hope that your account restoration will become a reality. Of little solace, but I will say that you are not the only one. Somewhat distressing is the changing of names and information on prior answered questions. Yet, it is the ostensible changing of content within a previous question that prompted me to wonder if this were done deliberately to render those previous threads useless to others. ("Anonymous" appears to be a bot although many current OS members have fanned "Anonymous" and awarded medals as well.)

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

Anonymous is not actually a bot. Its the account that a question gets registered to if the username who originally asked the question is not recognized as a registered user.

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

Essentially a chron job comes along and says "Hey this user doesnt exist!" and it then gets flagged as a "Anonymous" question.

KjSaif (kjsaif):
