Will give medals! Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong in this physics problem? I'm supposed to be solving for the magnitude of the acceleration, and finding tension. I've attached both the problem and my work

I have a bit of a (boredom, possibly) mental block on this sort of question, and I'm working on unblocking it. I guess that the "importance" of the TENSION in the STRING/ROPE is that if it gets VERY HIGH, the dam' thing would snap ? I often wonder quite why problems like this are set - possibly as "marking fodder", possibly as applied maths/physics "crossword puzzles", Je ne sais pas. Sounds like I'm writing to a drummer - either someone who plays the drums, or, maybe a drumstick from a chicken/duck/goose or something. Have fun whatever the case is. http://perendis.webs.com I hope I've enclosed the right pptx.
