Help with geometry question please?

@Will.H

OpenStudy (ivitt):

Please help.

OpenStudy (will.h):

To find the scale factor you will have to do the following Scale factor = IMAGE/PRE IMAGE I believe we should find the sides measures

OpenStudy (ivitt):

I don't understand could you explain a bit simpler?

OpenStudy (will.h):

I will find the side measures Take the side with points (0,4) (4,0) and find the length of that sides using distance formula I can't type the formula at the moment am on my phone but surely you can look it up on Google Anyway the length would be 5.6569 Now the corresponding side for that have points of (4,6) (6,4) Again find the length The length would be 2.8284 Now we said that Scale factor = IMAGE/PRE IMAGE The image us 2.8284 and pre image is 5.6569 Scale factor = 2.8284/5.6569 Scale factor = 0.5 approximately Hope that helps

OpenStudy (ivitt):

So the scale factor is 0.5

OpenStudy (will.h):

Indeed

OpenStudy (ivitt):

Alright. Thanks :)

OpenStudy (will.h):

Took a while sorry for that. And you welcome

OpenStudy (ivitt):

That's no problem.
