Multiply the column values: 1*248=248 2*567=1134 3*1402=4206 4*728=2912 5*419=2095 6*456=2736 7*203=1421 Then add up the results 248+1134+4206+2912+2095+2736+1421 = 14752 Divide that result by the total number of adults (248+567+1402+728+419+456+203 = 4023) to get 14752/4023 = 3.66691523738503 which rounds to 3.67 so each adult has on average 3.67 pets
