Rank these five identical bulbs (with ideal battery), from brightest to dimmest?
brightness is determined by power right, and since the resistance is all the same, I have to look at current?
:S
@SapphireMoon @mathmale
Identical bulbs => same internal resistance. Which of the five bulbs would have the largest current flowing through it? Why? Note that this circuit features both bulbs in series and bulbs in parallel.
bulb P will be the brightest since current wouldn't have dissipated as much? no?
^yes because the total current flows through P. Think of the current as water flowing through pipes.
It's a bit crude, but it helps to think of current as a flow of water. Would you agree that the current going out at `positive terminal of the battery` equals the current entering at the `negative terminal of the battery` ?
coincidence! we both have the same analogy @agent0smith
