Hey guys! I wanted some opinions and criticisms on my short creative non-fiction piece for my Creative Writing class. Thanks!

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay, so it's basically a story about a time in my life when I was banned from eating peppermints. It's my second draft, even though it says draft 3. My first draft was in third person, and even though it was okay, it was still bland mainly because it was rushed. I decided to re-write it in first person and as if I was telling the story about it now. It is definitely much better and I hope it turned out well. I think for the most part, my beginning is pretty good, but towards the end it gets sort of weak. I just wanted to hear some positive reinforcement and constructive criticism from others out there. Anything is appreciated, thanks!

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Also, my purpose/goal was just to create a funny story. I'm really not aiming for it to be anything but funny. Even though I have some parts where I intentionally attempt to create suspense or tension, which is also part of the comedy. But yeah, Also, warning: It has language. It only says major words a few times. It's not all over the place, I promise! >.<

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@Cecil_the_Weasel I'm sorry I never posted my first draft. xD But here's my second draft. :3

OpenStudy (derek):

Hm, not that bad. And I am not that sure that there are many professional writers right here where you can get the reasonable remarks. That is the reason why I offer you to navigate to "Prime Writing" site and check your work there

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Thanks @Derek !

alones (alones):

Wow kewlgeek way to go xP

OpenStudy (klark):

Very interesting style of writing, you know. I really like it. But If I were you I would ask specialists like Supreme essay guys to check it. I'm sure they'll help you a lot.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Thank you @AloneS xD And thank @Klark

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

thanks*

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@klark , Not sure if you're promoting a specific website or not, but I did go to my writing center, but they're only helpful with essays and this isn't an essay.

OpenStudy (derek):

Which writing centre did you go to? I know for sure that the writers from Prime Writing may assist you with any types of writing.

*Sits in a pool of shame because I'm replying like 3 weeks late* I thought this was hilarious! My personal favorite line was "Little did I know, death was right in front of me, begging to be eaten." I liked the casual writing style a lot. It reminded me of the writing style of a book I read that I can't remember now... so this was kind of a pointless comment. But hey, I remember laughing a lot. :P Thanks for sharing!

Creative writing is writing that expresses the writer’s thoughts and feelings in an imaginative, often unique, and poetic way. If you’re stuck for ideas, carry a notebook everywhere and write down your observations. How to make money with your creative writing? OpenStudy (derek):

I really doubt that the author of the question wanted to look for the ways how not to be stuck on the essay. However, I want to thank you a lot for the participation in this discussion. we have not heard much from @kewlgeek555 though.
