How do you solve for b in -3 = -1/4 (8) + b?

OpenStudy (codysek98):

Multiply -1/4(8) and then move that to the other side of the equation and you'll have b = ?

OpenStudy (nicnobles):

@triciaal

OpenStudy (triciaal):

to solve for b means you only want b on one side of the equation. whatever operation you do to get rid of everything else do the same to the other side to maintain the balance

OpenStudy (nicnobles):

@triciaal ok thank you! when i did that i got -1. is that correct?
