Since it is in absolute you would have an outcome of a negative and a positive so we have 2 equations....
\(\huge\bf{2x+4>8}\)
\(\huge\bf{2x+4>-8}\)
Simplify them both.
OpenStudy (firechild17):
2x>4
2x>-12
OpenStudy (firechild17):
than divide 2 on each side
563blackghost (563blackghost):
Nice :)
OpenStudy (firechild17):
x=2
x=-6

Correct partially the signs must stay so we have...
\(\huge\bf{x>2}\)
\(\huge\bf{x<-6}\)
OpenStudy (firechild17):
ok so its either A or C
563blackghost (563blackghost):
Yup :)
Since x is greater than 2 the shaded region would go away to the right of 2 so it would go from 2 and on...
Since x is less than -6 the shaded region would go away to the left of -6....
So with this said our answer would be what?
OpenStudy (firechild17):
C?
563blackghost (563blackghost):
Yea :)
