Question

So, im doing math ((10th grade)) and i got some wrong and she lets us correct them. But its -4^2. Thats -16, right? I've googled it and thats what it says the answer is so why is it marked wrong?

\[-(4)^2 = -16\]
\[(-4)^2 = 16\]
because negative x negative would be positive
