Advice for Openstudiers (aka my pet peeves)

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

- Don't start a post saying "Please help me" (or something of the equivalent)...and then not post the question you need help with. - Don't post a question and then leave and not respond to your helpers. - Don't direct message people asking for their help. Just tag them using the @ symbol directly followed by their username. - Don't post on other people's questions asking for help with your question

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

+ Do be respectful of others + If you don't understand something, say so, and be specific so your helpers can know exactly what to explain + Do thank people for their help and/or medal them

Pretty much the basic. :)

You would think so, yet I deal with those problems daily.

OpenStudy (miss.rose):

I hope I am not one of them. If I am, I am sorry.

- Don't direct message people asking for their help. Just tag them using the @ symbol directly followed by their username. hmm, this is correct. But, let me tell you sometimes I need help with a question I asked a mod or someone random no one ever help me. They sometimes read the question and leave and not even answering "I don't get the answer sorry" instead they leave pretending they never saw the question. Or sometimes they never even come to my question. (I know sometimes there helping but, it's always that)

i agree with all but 1. i per far pm some 1 asking them 4 help then tag alot of ppl and no 1 comes to the tag

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

I know tagging can get really annoying when people don't respond, but I since most of the time, I'm on the other side getting the tags, I understand that it sometimes takes time to get to someone's questions. Especially when you have to sift through 10s of notifications. Using direct messaging just slows me down because then I have to stop, read the message, and construct a response. I try to go in order of who tagged me first. @Lowkey.S I understand your frustration. I do try to put "I don't know" if someone specifically tagged me and I don't know how to help them.
