thank u for helping me 3mar
You are welcome, brother!
With my pleasure!
ok so i dont really know the answer to this one lol :P
The surface area of the regular pyramid simply means the sum of the areas of all its faces.
so 48?
or wait... no
The surface area of any volume simply means the sum of the areas of all its faces.
um 1 sec brb
Take your time.
where are you?
okay i am back srry had to feed the dogs
i leave for school in another hour an a half so i need to get these problems done fast
so what do i do?
hallo?
is it 48?
???
48 is the area of one triangular "face" but if you look at the picture, it has 4 of those triangular faces (all are the same size) plus, the "bottom" is a square, and you need the area of the bottom in other words, the surface area of the figure is the area of 4 triangles plus the bottom square.
but i though 12 was the area of one triangular face?
area of a triangle is base * height / 2 in this problem 8 * 12 /2 = 8*6 = 48 that is one of the triangles.
oh okay
so what do i do next?
add up the areas of the 4 triangles (or multiply 4*48) then add in the area of the bottom (it is a square with sides = 8)
4*48=192 192+8=200
the area of a square is not just 8 it is base*height (but both are the same number, 8 in this case)
8*8=64 192+64=256
yes
thats the answer?
Nice performance, YourBoyDusty!
thanks!
