OpenStudy (graceanne155):

Split the following vectors into X and Y 13 m/s at 12 degrees 15 m/s at 45 degrees 20 m/s at 60 degrees Add the following vectors (12x -3 y) + (6x +4 y) (8x + 2 y) - (2x +3 y) (20x + 8 y) + (- 4x +4 y) A frog jumps 14 m/s at 45 degrees. How far did he jump?

OpenStudy (danjs):

are all the angles referenced to the +x direction?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

One question at a time, please. I consider it to be a safe assumption that all angles are measured counterclockwise from the positive x-axis. Find the vertical and horiz. components of each vector. If A is the magnitude of a vector, and theta is the angle this vector makes with the positive x-axis, then the horiz. comp. of vector A is |A|cos theta. What is the vertical comp?
