Among 52 to 57 year olds, 38% say that they have driven a care while under the influence of alcohol Suppose two 52 to 57 year olds are selected at random. What is the probablility that at least one has not driven a car while under the influence of alcohol is_______
answer?
I don't understand the problem
If you were to select ONE person at random from this group (52-57 year olds), the chances that this person would admit to having driven a car while under the influence of alcohol is 0.38: P(has driven a car under the infl. of alc.) = 0.38.
Now you are choosing 2 people at random from this age group. What is the probability that at least one has NOT driven a car while under the infl. of alc.? P(has driven a car under the infl. of alc.) = 0.38/ What is P(has NOT driven a car under the infl. of alc.) ??
99.62?
may u plz close this
I think you have inadvertently mixed percentages with decimal fractions. Can't do that. Either 100%-38%=62%, or 1.00-0.38=0.62.
