Seven less than the quotient of a number, x, and twelve is five times the number. Which answer represents this situation?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

break down the words and convert them to numbers "seven less" --> -7 "quotient of x and twelve" --> x/12 put those two together and get... \(\frac{x}{12}-7\) "is five times the number" --> = 5x So you get \(\Large\frac{x}{12}\large-7=5x\)

OpenStudy (icantmath):

thank you so much!!
