The manager of a plant nursery bought 120 lb of soil to use for potting plants. The manager can put 5 lb into each of the small pots and 12 lb into each of the large pots. The manager made a sketch to show the line representing the different combinations of pots that can be used. The x-axis represented the number of small pots and the y-axis represented the number of large pots. The manager labeled only the intercepts. We are unaware of how many pots there are. We are only aware of how many lbs we can put in small and big pots while having 120 lbs of soil. So as said the x-axis represents the number of small points and the y-axis represents the number of large pots. So I believe we need to pinpoint the maximum of each we can make.

I do know the inequality is set as... \(\huge\bf{5x + 12y \le 120}\)

This would create a shaded graph representing the area of how many combinations we can make....So we figure the max of 5 lbs pots and 12lbs pots... \(\huge\bf{5x \le 120}\) \(\huge\bf{12y \le 120}\) What would each simplify to?

Correct :) So x can only extend as far as 24 and y can only extend as far as 10...So I believe the answer is C.
