A painting is 18 inches wide. It is placed inside a frame with a border that is x inches wide. The total width of the painting and the frame is 24 inches. Create an equation to model the situation, and then solve the equation to find the width of the border. 2 inches 2.5 inches 3 inches 4 inches Can someone please help me? I can't figure it out!

As per given data, the total width of painting and frame is 24in. hence 18+x=24.
rcp031 is incorrect. The frame is on BOTH sides of the painting so the equation is: \[18+2x=24\]Solve for x :)
