OpenStudy (abbles):

How to eliminate the parameter

OpenStudy (abbles):

x = 1 - t^2, y = t - 2

OpenStudy (abbles):

Would I isolate the t in both equation and then set them equal to each other?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

yes

OpenStudy (abbles):

So the two equations I got were \[t = y + 2, t = \sqrt{-x+1}\]

OpenStudy (abbles):

\[-x + 1 = (y+2)^2\] ?

OpenStudy (abbles):

Would the final equation be \[y^2 + 4y + x + 3 = 0\]
