Position velocity questions
A particle is moving in a straight line so that after the seconds it's distance selling from a fixed point of is s (t)= 8t+t^3
1. Find initial velocity 2. Find acceleration at t=2 sec
Physics?
NOPE AP calc
May I help?
please do i really need it. I am suffering from a migrane hear n cant think ni need all the help i can get. Thanks so much for ur help
سلامتك ألف سلامة لك
I ask Allah to heal you and be better than before.
As Salam Alaikum brother
How u know Im Muslim? Shukran.
As we have the relation between the distance and time, so we can derive it for the first time to get the speed, and the second time for the acceleration.
I did not no! Are you? Ma Sha' Allah My brother oberseas :)
*overseas
i forgot to mention this but the first question was find the velocity and I did that and I got 8+3t
Im a female U mean Sister. N im from NY USA
Sorry
its fine! :)
so anyways how can I get to finding the initial velocity
"i forgot to mention this but " It is not necessary to say that. You have the equation, derive it once and twice to get what you want.
"so anyways how can I get to finding the initial velocity" initial velocity means put t=0 in the relation of speed and time
Putting t = 0, initial velocity = 8 + 3 ´ 0 = 8 unit /s
Are you ok, @khantahmina?
Great! You got it!
honestly kind of not bc i got 19 more questions and now MAGHRIB AZAN is going on
so i gotta do SALAh
Pray and come back Salah is better than anything!
ofcourse ofcourse just waiting for Azan to be finished. give me like 10 mins n ill be back.
Illpray for u to allah n thank him for bringing u as my guidance
السلام عليكم
In driving in a straight line from New York to Boston, your position function given in miles from New York is described by the function: \[f(t) = \frac {5 t^3}{3} - 25 t^2 + 120 t .\] where t is the number of hours since the trip began. It takes you 8 hours to get to Boston. a) Find your velocity at time t= 1/2 hrs. (round to the nearest mile)
Is this another question or what?
10) what is your average speed during the first 3 hours of your trip?
you have asked 3 question and I did not answer any!
Thank you for the medal!
ahha *chuckles* I need help wih this one now and i got alot moree
WHich one first?
10) what is your average speed during the first 3 hours of your trip?
as you wish
for this data:? In driving in a straight line from New York to Boston, your position function given in miles from New York is described by the function: f(t)=5t33−25t2+120t. where t is the number of hours since the trip began. It takes you 8 hours to get to Boston. a) Find your velocity at time t= 1/2 hrs. (round to the nearest mile) ?????
i got that part myself and now i need this 10) what is your average speed during the first 3 hours of your trip?
the same data????????
or new data of new question?
same
ok so we have the governing equation of the relation between distance and time \[f(3)=\frac{ 5(t)^3 }{ 3 }-25(t)^2+120(t)\] as the average speed means the ration of the total distance traveled to the time elapsed, so we can get the total distance from the equation: \[f(3)=\frac{ 5(3)^3 }{ 3 }-25(3)^2+120(3)=180\] miles and the total time is 3 hours. So we can easily get the aver.vel. as follows \[V_{aver}=\frac{ dist. }{ time }=\frac{ 180 }{ 3 }=60\] mph
thank uuuu!!!!
11. Find the velocity at t= (1/2)
Important note: It must be a straight line movement to use the previous illustration as position indicates directly the distance between the start and the end point, but in case of other than straight line, it would not be correct approach! |dw:1476659459009:dw|
