OpenStudy (shaleiah):

Please give a detailed example of where inverses would be used in the real world.

OpenStudy (will.h):

Inverse functions?

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

yes

OpenStudy (will.h):

Okay here's a real life example We know that 1USD= 19.01 Mexican pesos So suppose that x= USD and y= pesos If I want to find pesos I use this expression Y = x * 19.01 where x is how much dollars I want to convert So what if I want to find the amount of dollars for specific amount of pesos? Well we use the inverse X = Y/19.01 Where y is the amount of pesos that we are going to convert into dollars. That's a good realistic example Hope that helps

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

@3mar Do you agree?

OpenStudy (3mar):

First of all, you are in good hands with Will.H.

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

Alright. Thanks Will.H!

OpenStudy (3mar):

But I don't know why I feel fully agree with mathematical expression instead !!! What Will said looks like that: |dw:1476657922103:dw|

OpenStudy (3mar):

I think Will have just explained two points on a graph of a function!

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

:o

OpenStudy (3mar):

What do you think @Will.H?
