You let jaynator recover my account @bibby. I've emailed contact@openstudy three times. Only once have I gotten a response, and even then, you didn't follow up.

He changed the email on my account, made the password something impossibly long, and now I'm to assume that the account is gone forever?

A little bit ago, they were closing the inactive accounts, I believe. I had been off the site for a few months at this point.

This wasn't a matter of rule/CoC breaching. Just jaynator being jaynator and that being allowed because this site has always given him special privileges

But yeah, your account is long gone. 
They can't retrieve it. They tried to reinstate someone else's account but they couldn't.
