What happened during the Boston Tea Party? How did this event help lead to the Revolutionary War?
everyone sat down, had some tea, and had a civilized conversation (joke)
When three tea ships arrived in Boston Harbor, the colonists demanded that the tea be returned to England. After Thomas Hutchinson refused, Samuel Adams organized the “tea party” with about 60 members of the Sons of Liberty, his underground resistance group. The British tea dumped in Boston Harbor on the night of December 16 was valued at some $18,000. The Intolerable Acts were then established by Congress.
as my memory is a bit fuzzy. The colonist were mainly from England where tea was a big deal to their life. so even after coming over to the colonies, tea was still a big deal and thus when king george decided to raise taxes on tea and other essential goods. the colonist decided enough was enough and plotted to throw all the tea into boston harbor as a symbolic gesture
while trying to blame the native "indians"
The colonists were angry at the high taxes on tea, so they revolted and tries to get their way by throwing a large amount of tea into the sea.
