OpenStudy (evansanchez):

Solve the inequality. Using a verbal statement, in simplest terms, describe the solution of the inequality. Be sure to include the terms, “greater than”, “greater than or equal to”, “less than”, or “less than or equal to”. -2x + 3 > 3(2x - 1)

OpenStudy (will.h):

-2x + 3 > 3(2x -1) To solve for x first we have to simplify the right side by distributing 3 on what's inside the parentheses -2x + 3 > 6x -3 Now set the alike terms on one side That means add 2x to both sides and add 3 to both sides 6> 8x Now divide both sides by 8 6/8 > x So x is less than 6/8

OpenStudy (will.h):

Make sense?

OpenStudy (evansanchez):

yes, a lot!

OpenStudy (will.h):

Great

OpenStudy (evansanchez):

im going to close & ask another.

OpenStudy (will.h):

So also instead of x is less than 6/8 You can say all real numbers less than 6/8

OpenStudy (will.h):

Okay
