What are the differences between a translation, rotation, and a reflection?

     -Translation is when you move the object, but not turning it in any way; like a slide.
     -Rotation is when you rotate the object; you turn it.
     -Reflection is when you reflect the object; like a mirror image. 

They are all types of rigid transformations. A rigid transformation is movement that changes the position of a figure but does not change its size.

What does congruent mean?
 
      If two figures have the same size and shape, they are congruent. 
      Having the same size and shape; expressed with the symbol ≅.

Given a situation involving a dilation, be prepared to determine the scale factor.



Can you find the third angle in a triangle, if you know the other 2 angle measures?

    Yes, you just use the Pythagorean Theorem. ( a^2 + b^2 = c^2 )

What do you know about vertical angles?

They are angles opposite each other when two lines cross. Whenever two lines intersect, they form two pairs of vertical angles. Vertical angles have a common vertex, but they are never adjacent angles. Finally, vertical angles are always congruent. Vertical angles have the same measure. When you know that two angles are vertical, you know that they are congruent.
