The inverse of a function is a function. always sometimes never

sometimes

OpenStudy (desmarie):

If f = {2, 3), (5, 8), (7, 10)}, the inverse of f is the set {(3, 2), (8, 5), (10, 7)}. If g = {(1, 5), (2, 6), (3, 7), (4, 5)}, then g -1 = {(5, 1), (6, 2), (7, 3), (5, 4)}. Notice in this example that g is a function, but g -1 is not. In general, if f is a function, f -1 is not necessarily a function.

does that make sense @evansanchez
