Do x^2 + 7x + 12 / (x + 3)(x + 4) and x^2 + 4x + 4 / (x + 2)^2 have a common factor? Is there a common factor of x?

Let's not deal in answers only. It's important that you learn how to do these problems independently.

I'd suggest you factor the 2 quadratic equations and then look for opportunities to cancel like factors.
