OpenStudy (itrymath):

A student is training for the swim team during July and August one summer. She swims one hour every day while averaging 800 meters each day. Select the graph that correctly shows the total meters swam during the time of her training program. (2 points)

OpenStudy (itrymath):

OpenStudy (itrymath):

A

OpenStudy (mhchen):

Nevermind, i just read that it's 1 hour a day.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

phew i got scared

OpenStudy (itrymath):

still not A

OpenStudy (itrymath):

A is impossible

OpenStudy (mhchen):

Okay so basically it's 800 meters for every hour, or 0.8 in thousands for each increment in hour... So that's like 8 meters in thousands for every increment in 10 hours.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

So C

OpenStudy (itrymath):

or D

OpenStudy (mhchen):

Okay so one thing I noticed in the graphs is that some are finite (has an end) while others seem infinite. The problem says that she took it during her summer only, and 1 hour each day.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

Yes, i see that too

OpenStudy (mhchen):

And it says to find the graph that shows 'total meters swam' so the meters is on the y-axis.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

WAIT I think i know the answer!

OpenStudy (itrymath):

because july and augsut have 60 days togather and each day 1 hour....

OpenStudy (mhchen):

Yeah....

OpenStudy (itrymath):

so its C......
