Fan and Medal!
I know what the 'alg1' would look like, I don't know how to put in into a equation. on 'alg2,' I'm completely lost.
On the first problem, do you think that 4 dots are added to each diagram to get the next diagram?
yes
In your drawing, how many dots are in the 6th term?
6 in each line,1 in the middle
Look at the algebraic expressions given as answer options. In the options, replace x by 6 and determine which option gives 21 when you do that.
A?
That is what I got.
ohhhh
On the second problem, the first term of the geometric sequence is given to be 4. The common ratio is 5. So, the sequence starts out: 4, 4*5, which is 4, 20, ...
What are the next three terms?
@Catpidigm
100, 500, 2500. Sorry had to brb...
4, 20, 100, 500, 2500, ,,, There are two options with those beginning terms.
20 *5 = 100, 100 *5 = 500... The slope is *5, right?
The common ratio is *5, yes.
yay! :) and b and d are out,
Of the two answer options with first 5 terms of 4, 20, 100, 500, 2500, ,,, only one of them has the first term, a (1) given to be 4. Do you see it?
one is 5* 4, the other is 4 * 5, so C is right, if that's correct.
Thank you so much :) I got an 100!
Great news. Look, the problem mentions recursive formula but does not give any of those in the options. I assume we can ignore the recursive formula.
You're welcome.
Got it :)
