OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

I have a question about some Calc III notation and problems.

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

Specifically with number 2

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

just fyi you probably want to point out that that's a former test and it's for practice, so you don't get banned by some trigger happy mod.

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

Oh is there a way to tag it. Its not the exam, its a practice exam.

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

I already have a pdf of all the answer key, I just don't understand the notation

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

can you post the answer key? might make it easier for us all.

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

Here it is

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

https://www.earth.ox.ac.uk/~larak/MMES/PartialDerivatives.pdf looks like it's just helping keep track of what other variables are kept constant.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

make sense?

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

I am reading what you posted, but I am getting lost. Haha

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

I kind of understand what you sent, but I do not get how to apply it to the problems like on the practice test...

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

well just ignore it basically.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Then readd it at the end. THe subscript variable is entirely unnecessary, and the only thing it does it says that i'm keeping this variable constant

OpenStudy (cmonkeys):

AHHH it all just clicked, Thank you so much I get it now
