What is associated with a gradient vector and a unit vector? Im looking at someones notes and trying to figure out what they are doing.

Obviously, both are vectors. The gradient vector does not necessarily have a length (magnitude) of 1, but a unit vector always has a length of 1. Your question is a bit vague. Could you pinpoint what it is that you want to learn / know?
