A laboratory has one solution of 15% hydrochloric acid (HCL) and one solution of 40% HCL. A mixture requires 50 liters of 35% HCL. How many liters or each must be used?

You have 2 solutions: A) 15% HCl B) 40% HCl 50 liters of 35% HCl is required set up 2 equations A + B = 50 .15A + .40B = (.35 * 50) Now solve for A (the 15%) and B (the 40%) This page has a worked out problem: (See section A) http://www.1728.org/mixture.htm
Is B 40 and A 10?
Correct !!
Oh! So my answer would be 40 liters of 40% HCI and 10 liters of 10% HCI?
10 liters of the 15% HCl
