OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What is your reason for not giving direct answers?

psirockin2 (psirockin2):

Because this is a homework site and we're SUPPOSED TO guide them and explain how to do the work.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Mine is In the preface to his book Educational Psychology: A Cognitive View, he says that “If [he] had to reduce all of educational psychology to just one principle, [he] would say this: The most important single factor influencing learning is what the learner already knows. Ascertain this and teach him accordingly” (Ausubel, 1968, p. vi)

psirockin2 (psirockin2):

Correction. This is a homework site, not a give me all the answers so I can get an A site. Also... Honor Code. There are under-cover teachers on here and god help you if one of them is yours.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

In practice begin with the question: $$\text{Any ideas?}$$

psirockin2 (psirockin2):

And if they say no, I just want the answer, you get off and leave

hartnn (hartnn):

For the user : Learning will not happen. A really good habit of thinking about one/multiple solution(s) will not get formed. Their big loss! For me : Waste of my time, I'm not here to do anyone's homework.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Usually when someone posts a question they usually include the word `help`. Now the word `help` means to aid someone in schoolwork it means to help someone through the work not to give the answer directly otherwise they will not learn. For those who include the word `help` please look up the meaning before you go and ask as well for the `direct answer`.

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

You know questions like ''What's the capital of Russia'' you have to give a DA to those types of questions, it might not always be as simple as googling but a little bit tougher but there's no way to guide them to the right answer you could say guess and they would reply like, ''table'' loool

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

We should try to "educate" their guesses ;-)

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Why make the fish climb trees

imqwerty (imqwerty):

+1 for DAs

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

In mathematics by giving the answer, most people won't learn... In order for someone to learn they need to know at the VERY least HOW the problem was solved.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

the horses name was friday

OpenStudy (hope210):

"You give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him to fish and you give him an occupation that will feed him for a lifetime.”

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

You're welcome. I like it too.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

I don't have a reason.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

The reason why everyone doesn't give an answer is because they'll get banned for it.

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

yeah what Conqueror said
